Venue Change for Golden Power Series

The next round of the Victorian-based Golden Power Series will not take place at Swan Hill as scheduled. The round will still take place on July 12 & 13, but at the Hume International Raceway at Puckapunyal.

The Karting Victoria statement announcing the change is below.

The remaining rounds are:

  • Round 4 (Jul 12-13): now at Hume International (Pucka)
  • Round 5 (Aug 9-10): Albury-Wodonga
  • Round 6 (Oct 4-5): Bendigo
  • Round 7 (Nov 8-9): Numurkah

Golden Power Series Round 4 change of meeting venue

We wish to inform all Competitors, Participants, Photographers, Suppliers and Officials (the Stakeholders) that it has been decided to relocate GPS Round 4 from Swan Hill Kart Club to Eastern Lions Kart Club.

Background for the Change

Recently, Swan Hill Kart Club undertook repairs to their track surface. Regrettably these repairs have not been carried out by the contractor to the standard expected by the Club and have rendered the track unusable for competition. It was acknowledged by the Swan Hill Kart Club Executive Committee that attempting to run a competitive event under the current conditions had the potential to damage the reputation of both Swan Hill Kart Club and the Golden Power Series.

The Swan Hill Kart Club Committee contacted both Karting Victoria and the GPS Committee with a proposal was to relocate the Round to Eastern Lions Kart Club and at a joint meeting last night this was agreed to by all parties in the best interests of the sport and the series.

Any disappointment the reader may feel and any inconvenience the reader may perceive both pale into insignificance when compared to the disappointment felt by the Swan Hill Kart Club and its members, especially since this circumstance has been created through no fault of their own.
