Lights

William Burfitt had no problem with a clean sweep in all heats with Edward Bourke and Mikey Stocks battling for 2nd and 3rd all day until Stocks DNF the final to an accident at pit corner. Hot favourites to battle Will this weekend where the Stringer twins but some miss leading information regarding tyres to run caused them run the new Maxxis White tyre as everyone else were on the softer Blue Maxxis tyre so they struggled to hold on and Matt taking 3rd in the final.

1 William Burfitt
2 Edward Bourke
3 Matt Stringer

Medium

The reverse grid didn’t slow down the front runners in Medium with Cooper Johnstone stepping into 4SS and battling Brayden Slama all day and night with Cooper having a clean sweep but an average gap back to Brayden of 0.054 of a second of the 4 races shows you how close it was all day! Simon Arnold showed some pace with at stages leading the race. Round 1 winner Jackson Lee had some real bad luck with 2 DNFs due to engine issues, heat 3 6th from last place and a rear bumper taken off so black flag and returned to pits for another Dnf.

Heat 1, Medium driver Jason Clarkes’ front wheel came loose giving him no turn into a high speed corner causing him to hit the tyre barrier and flip with the kart landing on him, his carburettor ripped in half pouring fuel onto the exhaust causing a fire! Thank you to Cooper Johnstone and Brayden Slama for stopping immediately to help Jason get the kart off. Thank you to Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club for not giving any penalty to those for stopping to assist and re-commencing the race with no laps or time lost, so much appreciated for that. Jason is fine and his kart not too bad.

Heavy

A three-horse race has just become 4 with Andy Bowie getting on the podium with his elbows out in the final. Jake Holland won the event and Nathan Daley once again showing he is the fastest out there. Andrew Hall had to fight back through the field in the final after being shuffled wide into turn 1 lap 1 but recovered after being in p2 all day.

1 Jake Holland
2 Nathan Daley
3 Andy Bowie

Round 3 is Sunday May 25th Gippsland Go Kart Club, Morwell.
