Clean Sweeps at Gippsland

The winners in all but one of the classes at the Gippsland Go Kart Club’s May race day enjoyed a clean sweep of victories to earn maximum club series points.

Running an all-points-count format across three heats and a final, it was only KA3 Senior Medium that had more than one race winner.

Cody Boys and Jordan Bantick dominated the Junior Light and Cadet 12 classes respetively, both drivers taking comfortable wins once they’d cleared the traffic in the random grid opening heats.

In Cadet 9, Tahj O’Reilly was undefeated, however Xander Rowse shadowed O’Reilly’s every move all day. The winning margin was never more than a few tenths of a second.

Juniors mixing it up at turn one, Harry Jones leads

Having his first run in the heavier weight division, Harley Bright won KA3 Senior Medium, taking two heat wins on the way. All four drivers in the class were within tenths of a second on lap time, George Lee and Mark Wicks also picking up a heat win.

In the Light class, Nick Popple was unchallenged and cleared off into the distance.

Race action returns to Morwell for the next club day on June 23.
