Samuel March earned two Victorian Kart Championships in sweltering conditions in Melbourne today, taking victory in Junior Heavy and KA2 at the Todd Rd circuit.
The KA Victorian Champions for 2024 are:

Kinglake teenager Samuel March was the big winner at the 2024 Victorian Kart Championship hosted but the Go Kart Club of Victoria in Melbourne on Sunday.
Driving an Alpha Motorsport Kart Republic kart, March was victorious in both the elite KA2 Junior and the KA3 Junior Heavy categories.
In the KA2 final March led home Ayrton Dalmaso and Hamish Campbell before fending off the challenges from Wash-it Australia driver Loclan Hennock to claim his second championship of the weekend. Local driver Mathew Basso held third for the majority of the race and claim the final place on the podium ahead of fast females Mia Mifsud and Chelsea Humphrey. Charlotte Page started on the outside of the front row for the final but her chances of a podium finish were dashed when she was caught up in an early race melee.

The Nick Percat-led JND Racing team claimed a quinella in KA3 Junior with Jack Szewczuk leading Riley Harrison to the chequered flag.
TaG 125 National Champion Harrison Hoey was victorious in TaG 125 Heavy ahead of Brent Reading who had been the pace setter for the majority of the weekend. Hoey also finished third behind Brodie Norris and Toby Spinks in TaG 125 Light.
In the KA3 Senior classes it was Luca Belardo who was the star of the Light division aboard his Jess Golding Motorsport Arrow while Jackson Souslin-Harlow made it a double victory for the Australian-made kart in the Medium division.
In the Cadet ranks it was Geelong youngster Jarvis Hindle who was victorious in Cadet 9 while Jack Larsen emerged as the victor for the Calicorse team in the highly competitive Cadet 12 category.
There was heartbreak following the X30 final when Rush Motorsport’s driver Jett Kocoski crossed the line first, only to fail to meet the minimum kart and driver weight post race. Kocoski’s exclusion handed the win to reigning national champion Jace Matthews. Pro Karting teenager Pip Casabene drove with maturity and speed to join Matthews on the podium in the runner-up spot. After being engaged in an intense battle with early pacesetter Brad Jenner, Jack Webster would eventually be classified third.
Ian Branson made a mid race pass on fellow local Peter Gigis to take the win in Victorian Combined Masters. Steven Riddell finished third.
