NSW ‘Wash It’ Kart Championship

from Kev ‘The Noise’ Davies

The Lismore Kart Club was fabulously presented for the 2023 “Wash-It Australia” Karting Australia NSW State Championships. It was edge of the seat stuff in a lot of classes throughout the weekend on this 630m circuit that has 10 metres of elevation in it.

An entry list of 193 drivers meant for exciting racing. KA3 Junior Light and Cadet 12 classes had to run the split heat system until the final, which made for very exciting heats with all drivers trying to get the best start position for the all important final.

Australian Champion Max Walton showed his class, winning both categories he raced in to add two NSW State Titles to his trophy cabinet.

Tommy Williams won his first ever State Title and immediately proclaimed it his best ever race weekend.

Gavin Whitmore was dominant in the TaG Restricted Medium class with all other competitors forced to fight it out for the rest of the podium positions, once again showing the Dream Team with his mechanic Bek Beezley still on top of their game.

Australian champion Keegan Fraser had an up and down weekend in the KA3 Senior class with a DNF and a second placed to his name. But when it came to the final, the DPE Kart Superstore backed driver showed his class to win the final and take the State Championship win.

Brock Plumb was another winner of a State Championship after fantastic battles all weekend long with Jackson Souslin-Harlow. The pair was able to break away from the pack and battle each other for the title. Brock kept his composure right to the last corner to see off Jackson’s challenge.

The Flack family once again had an amazing weekend of racing with two winners, Lana in the Cadet 12 and Paige in the Cadet 9.
