Ipswich Speedweek, incorporating a Karting Australia Junior Sprockets day, the 2023 Queensland State Cup and the 2023 Rotax National Cup, will take place from Wednesday the 27th of September to Sunday the 1st of October at Ipswich Kart Club.
Ipswich Kart Club, in partnership with Karting Queensland and Karting Australia, will host the 5 day festival of karting activity which will attract many of the top teams from around Australia to contest the State Cup and Rotax National Cup events, plus introduce a new group of cadet drivers to karting with the Junior Sprockets program on the Wednesday.
Classes offered for the Queensland State Cup will be, Cadet 9, Cadet 12, KA3 Junior Light, KA3 Junior Heavy, KA2 Junior, TAG Restricted Light, TAG Restricted Medium, TAG Restricted Masters, KA3 Senior (Championship weight) TAG Heavy and TAG Light. Classes offered for the Rotax National Cup will be, Mini Max, Junior Max, Senior Rotax Light, DD2 and DD2 Masters.
Queensland State Cup competitors will be vying for a Maroon Plate as Class winner and many will use this event as a warmup for the 2024 Queensland State Championship to be held at Ipswich Kart Club.
Rotax National Cup competitors will be vying for the selected representative spots for the 2023 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals in Bahrain.
The Ipswich Kart Club facility will open at 9.00am on Thursday the 28th of September for all teams to setup, before Rotax National Cup entries will have the Thursday afternoon and evening for practice.
On Friday the 29th of September, Practice and Qualifying will be held for the Queensland State Cup and then Friday evening under lights, Qualifying and several Heats of the Rotax National Cup will be held.
On Saturday the 30th of September, Heats of the Queensland State Cup will be held, followed by more Heats and the Finals of the Rotax National Cup on Saturday evening under lights.
Action will conclude on Sunday morning with the Finals of the Queensland State Cup, with racing and presentation expected to be completed by 2.00pm.
Entries for the Rotax National Cup are now open on the KA KOMP system. Entry for the Queensland State Cup will open Thursday evening.
