65 Years of Racing Celebration

from Russell Innes, IKC

Ipswich Kart Club will be celebrating 65 years since the club held its very race meeting in June 1959, with a big celebration weekend this Saturday and Sunday, 3rd and 4th June.

Free Practice will be available for everyone, (IKC Members and members from other clubs) Tickets will need to be purchased via KOMP but they will be at zero cost.

As part of the festivities over the weekend, IKC is also inviting all existing licenced karters to “Bring a Mate” as a dedicated session will be set aside from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on the Saturday for licensed karters to put their mates, wives, girlfriends, boyfriends, etc, in their kart.

This is basically a BYO Come and Try Day, but all karts will need to be fully compliant to KA rules and all safety equipment, etc, will need to be supplied by the kart owner.

Cadet drivers (6 to 12 years old) will need to be in either a Cadet 9 or Cadet 12 kart with a MiniRok, Comer or 4SS, Junior drivers (13 to 15 years old) will need to be in either a 4SS Junior or KA3 Junior kart and Senior drivers (16 years plus) will need to be in a Senior 4SS, KA3 Senior or a TAG Restricted kart.

At approximately 3.30pm on the Saturday, all intending participants in the Bring a Mate session, will be required to attend the Practice Hut at IKC and complete a Sign on Form, etc.

IKC will also be providing a BBQ dinner at about 6.30pm on the Saturday night and camping is available at the track on Saturday evening, so make a weekend of it and join in celebrating 65 years of racing at IKC.
