Pocket Rockets Double State Cups

Pocket Rocket Brothers Racing duo Koda and Oscar Singh continued their busy 2023 season over the weekend tackling the New South Wales State Cup at the Coffs Harbour Kart Club.

Koda was once again tackling the Cadet 9 class, with older brother Oscar tackling Cadet 12. Both brothers were trying to take out their maiden black plate championship!

Koda hit the track for qualifying and Victorian state champion set a blistering pace to put himself off pole position by a full second for the opening heats! Singh put on a clinical display in the opening heats leading every lap and setting the fastest lap in both races. After a 9 second victory in heat 1 and 6 second victory in heat 2, Koda was able to continue his dominate display grabbing victory in heat 3 and 4, putting him off pole position for the championship final.

Singh was able to lead out of the opening lap and never looked back taking a light to flag victory and his maiden state cup championship! Koda spoke post weekend after adding the New South Wales state cup to his Victorian Kart Championship win in 2023. “I had a great weekend! I managed to win every heat and set the fastest lap in every race as well. I was very happy to win the black plate!”

Oscar was looking to make it a Pocket Rocket Brothers clean sweep taking on a competitive Cadet 12 field. Singh had his work cut out for him landing in position 5 for qualifying in a hot paced session, with only 8 hundredths of a second between the top 5! Oscar had a tough opening heat coming across the line in position 6, after being as high as 2nd spot throughout the race. Singh knew he had to make the next 3 heats count and that is exactly what he did. Oscar was able to move forward into 4th in heat 2, with a top 3 finish in the remaining 2 heats with 3rd in heat 3 and 2nd in heat 4.
