Bolivar Closed – But Ready

The Bolivar circuit in Adelaide is currently closed due to hot weather.

The Southern Go Kart Club has made the decision to temporarily shut the gate on advice received from the bitumen company that recently re-sealed the venue and track extension.

As such, the track is likely to be closed for the rest of the week, possibly re-opening on Saturday, February 25.

“The advice given from the contractor… when the forecast is to be 34c or higher, karts should not be on the track while the bitumen is new” the club posted earlier this week.

“We have been advised that it needs to be this way until at least June. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we need to ensure the track maintains for the future.”

The opening round of the club’s 2023 Championship is scheduled to go ahead on Sunday, Feb 26.

The Adelaide forecast is for max temps of 38-40 deg C until at least Friday.
