Aussie Wins in Orlando

Praga ambassador driver Jonathon Marcusson overcame a number of engine issues to win rounds three & four of the Rotax Winter Trophy at Orlando, Florida, recently.

Jonathon & the Karting HQ team made the trip to America to compete in the four-round Rotax Winter Trophy.

Rounds one and two were held at Piquet Race Park in Loxahatchee, FL. With limited practice after a delay in chassis arrival, Jonathon quickly came to terms with the track layout.

“Unfortunately he was plagued by engine issues throughout qualifying and the heats at both rounds” the team posted. Despite this, Marcusson was able to finish strong with charging drives to P2 & fastest lap in both finals.

Rounds 3 & 4 were held at Orlando Kart Center.

“Jonathon was able to take heat wins at both rounds, before superb performances in both finals saw him withstand pressure from multiple drivers to take the win for Rounds 3 & 4.”

Overall, Jono was classified second on points in the four-round series, ruing the difficulties that came from engine dramas.

Jono & the team now focus their attention towards the City of Sydney Titles at Sydney Premier Karting Park this weekend, competing in the TaG category & debuting the 2023 Praga Karts signature series chassis.
