Shamick Shuts in Australia

Shamick Racing will no longer contest karting events in Australia.

Team founder Shane Wharton announced via social media he is moving on from karting in Australia, posting what he described as “a bitter sweet message.”

“Fiftenn years ago I fell in love with a sport” he wrote. “Shamick Racing has achieved some amazing results and lifted the standard of Australian Karting.

End of the road for Shamick in Australia, but Wharton and the brand continues in Europe

Wharton’s passion for the sport is unquestioned, his team supporting countless karters over the years. Shamick was even involved in V8 Ute racing for a time.

“Thank you to Anthony Bartolo, Tommy Nicolaou, Brett Mackay, Lauire Coul and their families. Arnetts, Lodge family, there are so many chapters that make up this book but thank you to each and every one of you.

“As I move on from Australian karting I will continue to support Shamick Europe along with spending more time with James as he writes his own book.

“The Parolin brand continues and will strengthen with Kris and Jenna continuing what they already do well. What happens with Rob? He continues his journey with James.
