Lismore Returns To KA!

Lismore Kart Club has elected to re-join Karting Australia.

At a special meeting last night (5 January), a motion to return to Karting Australia immediately was passed with a majority vote, 82 to 13.

The club, close to the Queensland border in northeast NSW, has been sanctioned under the umbrella of Karting NSW since ‘The Split’ in 2018.

“The committee will now be in contact with both KNSW and KA and work through the process of changing over” club Secretary Mark O’Shea said in a communication with members.

“Given we are technically in between affiliating bodies we have made the decision to close the track for a short period as we are not sure where we stand with insurance.”

It is believed a Karting Australia representative will conduct a track inspection next week with the intent of having the circuit available for practice from January 14.

The club has suspended membership renewals until it gains access to KA’s portal. It is also expected there will be changes to the race calendar, “but that will take a little bit longer (to finalise).”
