“To everyone that has reached out… I’m ok” he wrote.

“I have lacerated my kidney and liver. I have also snapped my clavicle. My elbow and forearm are yet to be determined, waiting for scans.”

Buckley expressed a “massive thankyou” to Adam Lindstrom from Pro Karting. “You were right there by my side and I cannot thank you enough.”

He will be kept in hospital for a couple of days for observation.

Buckley was practicing in preparation for the TaG 125 enduro at the venue on Sunday.

“To everyone that is driving the Enduro @gokartclubofvictoria this weekend… good luck and be safe ❤️” Jett added.

Being the son of AFL legend Nathan Buckley, once Jett posted information about his incident on social media, it quickly did the rounds of national and international news services.

The exact cause of the line split is not clear at this stage, but it does serve as a reminder for all karters to regularly check their equipment, particularly the braking and steering systems.
