Dvorak Tries Formula Ford

With the 2022 racing year now closed, Toby Dvorak took the opportunity to explore new racing opportunities and test his grit at the Formula Ford Winton test day.

Dvorak, the DJM Race Engineering lead driver who placed second at the 2022 Australian Kart Championship and has won two state championships, showed his mettle at his inaugural Formula Ford appearance.

Under blue and sunny skies last Friday, the day started with a shaky skip and hop as Toby – recently back from the European Championship in Italy – was put through his paces as he grappled with a manual for the first time.

However, he quickly picked up the clutch and gear after practising in the back carpark, and was soon “lifting dust”, true to form, speeding around the awesome track in the new machine.

With a few sessions under his belt, it was time for Toby to push and have some fun, ending the day with some turbo-charged laps and a few overtakes. It was big smiles all round and an overall epic experience as Dvorak showed his adaptability and ability to the Formula Ford.

With a big year behind him, Dvorak is continuing to prove he has what it takes to make his passion into a career.

Big thanks to DJM Racing and Anthony at J&A for their help and support throughout the year. Kobi Williams for the use of his car, and Glenn Jagger at Altatek Racing for his excellent car prep and guidance on the day.
