NSW Guns Team Up for TaG Enduro

The Shamick Racing 4.5 hour Enduro at the Go Kart Club of Victoria has proved to be one of the hardest races to win on the Karting Victoria and Karting Australia calendars. New South Wales pair Jackson Souslin-Harlow and Reece Cohen will be teaming up to look for their 1st win in the event against the local drivers.

Souslin-Harlow and Cohen are no strangers to success at the highest level of Australian karting but realise they have a mountain to climb to take out the major event!

Souslin-Harlow has had a season to remember in 2022 and goes into the event as one of the most in form drivers in the country. Souslin-Harlow was able to take a brilliant 3rd position in the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship in X30 which included a round victory at the Newcastle Kart Club. Jackson season haul didn’t finish there, with a 2nd place at round 3 of the championship, a victory at the City of Melbourne Titles and multiple state championships across the season, including a mammoth 12 second victory in Tasmania over the weekend.

Souslin-Harlow spoke about his excitement to once again team up with Cohen and joked about their chances. “It will be good to team up with Reece as we have been team mates in the past. It will be great to have him with me in the enduro and be the tallest in the field by far! At least we will not crash into each other this time “.

Cohen has been doing all of his racing of late in the elite KZ2 gearbox category. Reece over the last few seasons has been able to take out the New South Wales State Championship at the Newcastle Kart Club and the New South Wales state cup this season at the Greater Sydney Kart Club.

While Cohen hasn’t been racing in the TAG 125 class recently, he is no stranger to success in the class. Cohen is a former state champion in the class and claimed victory in the class at the highest level, the SP Tools Australian Kart Championship.

Reece spoke of teaming up with Souslin-Harlow and being back racing in the TAG 125 ranks. “We haven’t been in the same class for years now. We have something we can’t change and that’s being tall, which we do talk of the track regarding setup. This race is the perfect opportunity to team up and show what we can do as a team. I’ll be jumping in Jackson’s kart for this round and looking forward to get in a Tag Kart for this different challenge “.

Souslin-Harlow and Cohen will be looking to join the likes of former Australian Kart Champion Matthew Mclean, current Supercars driver James Golding and former world champion and fellow New South Welshman Cody Gillis in taking out the Enduro event. Both drivers are well into their preparation for the event and are looking to take the fight to the local drivers and some of the country’s best!
