Ryan Wyhoon hit the circuit 1st in the KA4 Junior Heavy C+D class with 15 drivers to compete with. Wyhoon set a strong pace in qualifying and was able to land himself in the top 5 in 5th position overall and starting on the 3rd row.

Ryan had 3 heat races on Saturday and did a brilliant job never leaving the top 5 and coming away with 5th in heat 1, 3rd position in heat 2 and 4th position in heat 3. Wyhoon was unfortunately involved in a 1st lap incident in the final heat which dropped him down to 9th position. Ryan was able to bounce back in the final and make his way up onto the podium in 3rd spot overall in a great drive and strong result for the Fabcon Racing team.

Isabel Rowe was up next in the open KA4 Junior Heavy class with 20 karters taking the start in the tough class. Rowe made her way into the top 10 in the timed session landing in position 9 overall and starting on the 5th row for the heats.

Isabel had the 2 heats on Saturday where she was able to move up to position 7 in the opening heat and then have another top 10 in heat 2 in 9th. Rowe had a few tough heats on Sunday before the final, being involved in opening lap incidents in both races. Isabel wasn’t able to finish the 3rd heat but recovered for position 12 in the final heat, which had her off position 13 for the championship 15 lap final.

Rowe was on the move forward and was inside the top 10 looking good for a strong result when another racing incident put her to the back of the field in a Sunday to forget. Isabel showed her determination to not give up, and got back to position 11 overall in a very tough day.

Team owner, Bryan Rowe spoke post weekend on the up and down weekend of results for the team. “It was a great weekend for Ryan and it was great to see him on the podium. He had great speed and after a tough 4th heat he was able to get into position 3 in a great result. Isabel was making her way forward ,but we had a shocker on Sunday which hurt her chances for any podium results. We’ll regroup and we’re looking forward to getting on our home track in a few weeks”.

Fabcon Racing will next be on track for the final round of the Golden Power Series at the Gippsland Kart Club.
