Fabcon Podium at GVKC

Fabcon Racing had another flat-out weekend on track at the Australasian Kart Titles over the weekend. Fabcon Racing had 4 drivers across 3 classes competing at the Goulburn Valley Kart Club Red plate title. The team has been in strong form of recent months and were looking for another strong result across the weekend.

Jamie Rowe was first to hit the track in the ultra-competitive TAG 125 Light category. Rowe landed himself in position 4 on the grid in a tight qualifying session, where he was only a tenth of pole position. Jamie didn’t have the Saturday’s racing he was after, dropping down to position 7 in heat 1 and position 6 in heat 2 and the star driver was looking to bounce back on Sunday.

Rowe came out with a strong 3rd in heat 3 and after the opening lap of the final was right in the battle for the podium positions. Jamie swapped positions for 2nd and 3rd multiple times and was able to cross the line on the podium in 3rd spot overall!

Isabel Rowe and Ryan Wyhoon hit the track next in KA4 Junior Heavy. Rowe led the way in qualifying, landing herself inside the top 5 drivers. Wyhoon was just outside the top 10 in position 12 and was looking to move forward across the heats. Isabel led the way in the Saturday races with a 4th and 5th keeping her in contention for a podium spot. Wyhoon had an unfortunate DNF in heat 1 but bounced back to finish inside the top 10 for heat 2. Rowe slipped outside the top 5 in heat 3 with position 7, while Wyhoon was just outside the top 10 battling in position 11. Rowe was in the top 5 battle in the final and was charging towards the battle for the podium when an incident with another competitor dropped her down to position 7 overall. Wyhoon was able to move forward and come home inside the top 10 to finish his weekend.
