Jett was pushing hard and using all his available power to make his way into the top fifteen. Kocoski put in a sound qualifying effort putting himself thirteenth on the grid for the opening two heats.

Jett returned to the track Saturday morning and was looking to make his way forward through the field. Kocoski got a smooth start and raced on the edge of the top ten, looking to make up positions as the race went on.
