Works have commenced to bring the Orange Kart Club’s race track back to its former glory.
The club has received $765,000 in funding for track upgrades. “This funding is part of the State Government’s Regional Sport Facility Fund” the club posted.
“This funding will ensure the Club’s longevity for many years to come.”
Works commenced recently and the circuit is expected to be closed through to just prior to the Southern Stars meeting on April 29 to May 1st.
The resurfacing task will be managed by Evolve Projects, the organisation that resurfaced Lithgow and the Australian Motor Park track.
“The Orange track is already a favourite of karters across the state. We know that this resurface will bring many back to race at our great facility.
“Thanks to all of the organisations and people who supported this grant application. Many thanks to Philip Donato, Sam Farraway MLC and Orange City Council for their support of this project. Thanks also to Business Orange and Regional Development Australia Central West for their support.
“An enormous thanks and debt of gratitude to all our fellow karters who wrote so many letters of support. The Board of Karting NSW, the legends from Karting Legends, Four Stroke Karting Association of NSW Inc, TEKA – The Endurance Karting Association, Sportsman Enduro Karting NSW, Vintage & Historic Karts of Australia, our members and friends. This was truly a collective effort from an amazing karting community.”
