POD – Anthony Buhagiar and a few of his mates recently started a new podcast, The Racing Line. “Apart from reviewing racing, we are also passionate about telling the stories of young and upcoming Aussie racers” Buhagiar told KartSportNews. “We have recently interviewed the likes of Joey Mawson and Aaron Cameron and devote significant time to exploring their journey through karting.” More HERE.


INDUSTRY – The Kartworks is in the process of moving shop from Cardiff to the Newcastle kart circuit at Cameron Park. “We would like to thank Newcastle Kart Racing Club for giving us the opportunity” The Kartworks posted on social media. The shop is scheduled to be open at the new location six days a week (closed Tuesdays), commencing November 24,

EVENT – Racing will be in reverse direction at Ipswich for the Capri Cup on December 3 and 4. In readiness for the event, all practice at the circuit is now in that direction, drivers turning right leaving the out grid and entering the track via the breakdown lane.

INDUSTRY – Renowned karting – and now general motorsport – photographer Ben Roehlen has gone Supercar racing. Roehlen’s Pace Images business was the naming rights sponsor for former karter Reef McCarthy’s Super3 Falcon at this weekend’s Sydney Motorsport Park round. More on speedcafe HERE.

EVENT – The final 2 rounds of the NSW Premier State Cup will be held at Newcastle on 27 and 28 November.


PRODUCT/INDUSTRY – The retail price of Rotax kart engines is set to jump. “Unfortunately, the effects of Covid has finally caught up with us” Rotax Pro Tour posted on Facebook. “Rotax’s production costs and shipping have all been badly affected. Please be advised that we have had to increase engine prices by $600 to reflect these manufacturing and freight costs.”
