Lando Norris has joined a number of other F1 drivers by launching his own brand of chassis – the LN Racing Kart.
In a deal with the OTK Group, the machines will roll out of the same factory in Prevalle (Brescia), Italy, as Tony Kart, Kosmic, Exprit, et al.
The project has taken 12 months to produce the first kart, the LN Four, which has all the main rails in 30mm tube. The deep blue karts are decorated with Lando’s LN logo and navy blue/fluro yellow graphics often seen on his crash helmets.
Lando is familiar with OTK equipment, having raced FA Alonso Kart (with Ricky Flynn Motorsport) to European and World Championship victory in his Junior days.
In fact, the LN Racing Kart will make its international competition debut with the RFM team in 2022.
“Karting is where it all started for me” Lando posted on social media.
“This is a project I’ve been working on with OTK for the last year and I’m super-proud to say it’s now here. I won my first world championship on OTK’s FA Racing Kart and I can’t wait for the day when someone wins their first championship on the LN Racing Kart. Bring on the future talent! Let’s do this OTK & Ricky Flynn Motorsport!”
Having your own kart brand seems a fashionable thing to do for an F1 driver. Others to have, or have had, branded chassis include Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Charles Leclerc, Robert Kubica, Lewis Hamilton, Jacques Villeneuve, Jarno Trulli, Ralf Schumacher and Alex Zanardi.
