This weekend’s World Championship in Sweden has 28 drivers battling for the premier KZ title, plus another 101 entries going for the International Super Cup for KZ2.
But it’s anyone’s guess what the numbers will be for the OK and Junior World Championship in Brazil later this year.
The Europe-based factory teams have said they’re not going, citing covid safety, logistical and cost concerns.
So, could this be the year of independent & private teams in Brazil? Or will the big factory outfits from Europe enter after all?

The event takes place at the Kartodromo Internacional Birigui on December 2 to 5. Entries close September 15 and the FIA has emphasised there will be no extension to this cut-off date.
If you could somehow get to Brazil, the entry fee is €760 (about $1200 AUD).
