Erin was running in one of the biggest classes of the weekend in the restricted 125 light class. The Global Pacific Solutions Group sponsored senior driver ran inside the top twenty looking to improve going into qualifying.

Charlee headed out for qualifying in her RB Kart Engines powered and sponsored entry. Richardson was right in the battle for pole position, being on top of the times early in the session. With not even a tenth of a second separating the top three, Charlee come away with position three on the inside of the second row. Erin Richardson showed an improved effort in qualifying by coming forward in lap time. With a fast and competitive field, young Erin came home in position nineteen looking to continue to improve as the weekend went on.

Charlee achieved a good start in heat 1, jumping straight in behind race leaders Findlay and Thomson. The battle at the front was close and fast with a four-kart battle with Ella Dealy joining the front group. When looking like a strong third place in heat 1 the RB Kart Engines powered and sponsored entry was run off the circuit on the last lap resulting in a DNF.

Erin Richardson got a great start in her Global Pacific Solutions Group sponsored entry immediately jumping into the top fifteen. With an improved result on the cards, unfortunately a mistake from young Erin put her out of heat 1 with a DNF.

The heavens open Saturday Night pouring rain all night. A wet circuit presented itself for the team to race in. Charlee got a clean get away but was unfortunately pushed wide in the early stages dropping down to fifth spot. In the tricky conditions the RB Kart Engines powered and sponsored driver came home just outside the top five, in position six overall. Erin had a tough second heat struggling for grip in tough aquaplaning conditions. Richardson in her Global Pacific Solutions Group sponsored entry came home in position eighteen overall.

Due to the high level of rain the rest of the meeting was called off with no further racing taking place.

Charlee and Erin’s father Leigh noted a tough weekend. “Unfortunately, not a lot went right for the girls this weekend. Charlee getting hit off twice and Erin struggling in the wet conditions made for a tough weekend. To the girls credit they drove their hearts out and we look forward to the next round”.

Richardson Motorsport will next hit the track at Victorian State Championships at Oakleigh in April.
