Another Holdup for Bathurst Kart Track

Work was to have started on the new kart track at Mt Panorama this week, however an emergency declaration under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act is prohibiting work on the site for at least 30 days.

Speedcafe reports Minister Sussan Lay granted the declaration. According to Speedcafe, the kart track project has met with resistance from the local Indigenous community, which says the park contains a sacred women’s site.
