Melbourne karter Hugh Barter has taken out the 2020 Richard Mille Young Talent Academy Shootout. The win means he gets a full season in the 2021 FIA French Formula 4 championship.
The two-day shootout took place at Le Mans and came down to three finalists; Hugh Barter (AUS), Albin Karlsson (SWE) and Craig Tanic (FRA).
The ten drivers who participated were selected by their respective Birel ART distributors or by the Birel ART Racing Team.
“I couldn’t be happier for this kid” said Michael Patrizi of the 15-year olds achievement. “He puts in as much away from the track as he does on the track.”
“Thanks to my amazing family, my amazing sponsor and supporters” Hugh posted on social media.
“What an awesome opportunity that I was given and all my dreams are starting to come true. Thanks to Michael Patrizi from Patrizicorse for making this happen and believing in me. Thanks to all the people at the FFSA Academy for all the hard work over the last 3 days. Also to the people at Richard Mille for making the Driver Academy/ Shoot out happen and especially for selecting me.”
