“These two seasons with the FIA karting have gone by in the blink of an eye. It is with great joy that I think back to our first two years as a promoter, it has been an extraordinary journey so far. From day one, our goal was to create a new approach to media coverage of the Championships and improve the event experience, including attracting more spectators. In 2019, we made a major step forward by partnering with a well-known television distribution agency that has entered into agreements with more than 50 channels broadcast in more than 100 countries. In addition, we have entered into highly productive agreements with Internet broadcasting giants Motorsport.com and La Liga to broadcast more than 15 hours of live video content every race weekend and integrate karting into the sections of these major platforms.

“I would like to highlight two particularly strong moments at the end of the 2019 season. These are the FIA Karting World Championships held successively in Finland and Italy. Each time, the stands were filled with enthusiastic spectators cheering for the Drivers who provided an exciting show during the Finals.

“The unforgettable Finnish public cheered on local Driver Juho Valtanen who almost won the OK title before being overtaken by reigning World Champion Lorenzo Travisanutto, who drove a sensational race. Similarly, the FIA Karting World Championship – KZ in Lonato was full of emotion and excitement. The superb victory of Marijn Kremers, celebrated with great pomp and circumstance by the Italian public, allowed Birel ART to reach the top of the podium after many years.

“The intensity of these absolutely thrilling weekends has once again demonstrated the need to continue to push karting more and more into the public eye.

“By 2020, with high objectives and expectations, we aim to continue to promote the sport to a wider audience and introduce new technologies while advancing the entertainment aspect of all FIA Karting Championships with new features.

“To end the season on a positive note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people involved in the FIA Karting Championships without whom the sport could not thrive. Teams, drivers, parents, officials and volunteers, I thank you all and I look forward to seeing you again to write the next chapter in the history of FIA Karting.”
