BIG CHINA – We hear the organiser of the Asian Karting Invitational event in Cangnan, China, is dangling a huge carrot to get entries from other countries. The promoter has organised a drivers’ assistance package that includes accommodation and supply of equipment. Additionally, there is significant prize money for the top 5 in each class, the Senior winner taking home ¥30,000 Chinese Yuan ($6,200 AUD) with all the other winners (Cadet, Junior and Masters, plus the winning mechanic in each class) cashing ¥10,000 ($2,000). This event will bring together 120 drivers from China and other southeast Asian countries on November 8 to 10.

RIP Justin Bedggood – The Melbourne Speedway Kart Club has lost one its family members with the passing of Justin Bedggood. “Justin was a member of the MSKC for just over 12 months and had his first full season racing speedway karts with us. After only a couple of race meetings that Justin had competed in, Justin got his brother Jarrod involved in racing speedway karts. After a great first year by both boys and making lots of new racing friends, both boys haven’t stopped talking about this up and coming season. Justin and Jarrod have been planning to have a big 2nd year in the kart as well as Justin going to have a steer in his compact Speedcar that he had only just brought. To Jarrod, Justin’s wife Sally and the family we are thinking of you all in this very hard time for you all. Justin will never be forgotten by the Melbourne Speedway Kart Club” – MSKC.
