It’s been a great month for Whyalla Kart Club as the Whyalla Show was on through the middle of the month and we had a few members set up a stall to promote the club and karting in general. Thousands of show goers passed through and had a chat. This was also the perfect opportunity to advertise the Whyalla City Titles, which was held on the following weekend.
The Whyalla City Titles was held over two days with the first day being practice setting the Karts for qualifying on the Sunday. It was good to see drivers travel from around the state to come to our club’s premier event for the year.
This year the Teams’ event was run with “3 Stooges” the winning team consisting of Dominic Mercuri, Henry McPhail and Johnny Ellis. All the drivers receiving a silver plate kindly sponsored by Barretts Blinds and Aluminium. Overall the competition was tight in all the classes.
Whyalla Kart Club’s next meeting will be held on the 14th of September during the evening, racing starting at 5pm. This will be a good race meet to prepare for the upcoming State Titles on the following weekend.
Also, this month we have a come and try day, were anyone from 7 up can come and experience Karting. Check it out on the 29th of September.
