Bissett Holds Off Black in 50-Lapper

from Melissa Garland

On Saturday, 3rd August 2019 Central Coast Speedway Go Kart Club hosted the ProKart Solution sponsored 50-Lap Shootout Twilight event.

The day started later than expected due to wet weather experienced earlier in the week, with presentation only just being fit in on the same day – it was almost Sunday!

After qualifying and heats were run, the Pole Shuffle saw the six fastest competitors battle it out for pole position in the A Main feature. With only two laps to prove their speed, to then shuffle with another competitor to prove again, this was ‘must view’ racing. Jack Black was the victor with the honour of starting on pole position for the 50 Lap A Main feature race.

There were 16 karts on the track at commencement of the A Main. At conclusion, when the checker dropped, only 5 karts remained.

The epic battle was for 1st and 2nd placings. Jason Bissett who started in 2nd position, beat Jack Black to the first corner and remained in 1st place for the entire 50 laps, but Jack Black made sure he had to work for it with constant, determined pressure on Jason Bisset’s tail.
