As is appropriate for the Super Kart Club of WA, nature provided nice weather for great karting… no rain, cloudy/sunny, albeit a bit cool early on.
More pleasure to be had was the fact that the track had been entirely resurfaced. The jump after Turn 2 gone and the ripples after the chicane gone… billiard table smooth.
Sausage sizzle on the Friday and Saturday nights. Did get cold on Friday night, but this was alleviated by converting CH4 molecules plus O2 into heat = a roaring wood fire.
Thanks again for the support from Tool Chest, Endeavour Tools , Bunbury Batteries & Radiators, KartMart, Load Cell Supplies, SP Tools & Coco’s Restaurant.
On display and race usage throughout the day was our “spare” kart currently powered with 100cc J. This was completed with donations from club members, sponsors and friends of SKCWA.
Entries were up on last year with new participants, particularly seniors, across many classes. Some notable sprint karters also in attendance for their first Winter Cup, but not last were: Damon & Tioni Papasergio, Troy Stone, Jeff & Tyson Sadler, Chad, Jye and Jack Parham
Our next Race meeting is scheduled for 31 August with some practice “test n tune” afternoons with Motoring South West on 26thJuly and 9th August.
Later in the year the another race meeting on 30th November, preceded by several more practice date options.
Who won? Everyone.
From the pics, you can see that some, well certainly one, will do anything to transport their karts down to Collie.
Thanks to SKCWA, KartWest, the Collie Motorplex girls (and what a bunch they are!!) and the various and necessary officials.
“There’s more to karting than karting”
