The Weekend Courier Community website reported yesterday that WA’s Frank Viola has been charged with possessing child exploitation material and unlicensed possession of a firearm/ammunition.
Karting WA has subsequently written to all its member clubs informing them that Viola was to no longer act as a photographer or volunteer at any Karting WA licenced track, and that Karting Australia had revoked his Photographers’ Accreditation.
Viola has been a regular at kart tracks in WA for many years, as a competitor and contributing reports and photographs from race meetings to various publications.
Karting WA State Secretary Michelle Lino said in the notice that as of last week, Viola held the required National Police Check and Working With Children Check.
