4-Stroke Association Nominate Engine for 2019

The 4-Stroke Karting Association of NSW has announced the Briggs & Stratton Local 206 engine will be its ‘engine of the future’ for 2019 and beyond.

The association will officially launch the 2019 series, in partnership with Briggs & Stratton Racing Australia, at Newcastle’s Mt Sugarloaf circuit on Saturday July 14.

“Our recent success and growth has been based on keeping karting simple; one engine, reliability and putting our members interests first” the association explained. “This decision will ensure a bright future for our club.”

The 2019 series launch (being held the day prior to the Sydney Karting Warehouse Six Hour endurance race) will consist of:

  • Come & Try Day for interested parties looking to be involved in karting. The Come & Try karts will be provided by Briggs & Stratton Racing Australia and 4SKANSW Inc (Please register your interest with Briggs & Stratton Racing Australia).
  • Opportunity for 4SKANSW Inc. members to drive the Briggs & Stratton powered karts on the day, of which there will be four or five. This can be done within the normal practice sessions on the day for members signed on for the event.
  • Extended Practice sessions for Subaru KX21 karts entered in the Sunday Endurance Race.
  • Opportunites to speak with International Karting Distributors at the IKD Marquee, the Briggs L206 Australian distributor for Karting Australia, and 4SKANSW Inc. members regarding the engine and the pathway forward.

“We’d like to thank IKD and Dave Whitmore for being so helpful. Dave is your man for any Karting Australia Briggs Local 206 questions and can be contacted at IKD.”
