The Points Meeting on June 3rd was the Angas Go Kart Club’s Sunday ritual with the weather finally being kind and good numbers of members and drivers from other club’s around the state putting on a show for all to watch.
We saw again plenty of hard and fast racing with the local Police Officer taking radar readings of karts heading down the main straight. The KT TWIN Class showed speeds in excess of 94 km/hr and Single KT classes around the mid 80 km/hr.
Remy Mather showed some true skill on the track in the Junior Heavy Class with 97 points, only 3 points off a perfect score. This was definitely a common occurrence with many other drivers taking out their class with the perfect 100 points.
The next meeting, to be held on the 24th June, is set to be huge meeting with the running of the KT LIGHT / MEDIUM / HEAVY and STATESMAN Trophy day. These classes never put on a boring show with plenty of action and hard racing for all to watch.
With the GOLD CUP only months away we saw a hand full of KT TWINS take to the track with some spectacular racing. The Gold Cup meeting is one of the club’s biggest blue-ribbon events of the year, with 20 of the best drivers in the country racing to get their hands on that Gold Cup and stand on top of the podium… and maybe even a Shoey.
