Cadet 9: What a weekend of racing racing they gave us. In the final it all seemed to be decided just a couple of laps from the end when Jordan Sell & Isaac McNeill had a coming together leaving Jackson Cooper to continue on to the win. Luke Rinaldi came through to second & all the way from Emerald Kart Club Jye Finch got third. There is a technical  infringement in this one still to be sorted but this was how they finished and they gave us some fabulous racing.

Cadet 9

Cadet 9B: The absolute beginners of the sport had themselves a blast out on track getting to show their skills to the crowd on the hill. Rylan Hovey came home third, Angus Hare bagged second place but it was Isabella Wagner who took the Win!

Cadet 9 B

TaG Restricted Medium: Could there be any more drama in a class? Firstly, during a freak shower in qualifying while they were all on slicks, Adam Mueller grabbed pole position. From then on in every heat & up until the second last lap it was the Kel Farrell show dominating every heat and the final, but with just over a lap to go he just clipped the curb on the Golden Nugget Hairpin, throwing his chain! That allowed Michael Butler, who came all the way from Gladstone, to take the victory. Ben Forrest was therefore in second place and the ecstatic Ian Perks came home third.

TaG Restricted Heavy: Another Gladstone visitor took top step honours, this time Tony Jones in the flying #72. As they were combined with Masters he had plenty of drivers to race with and finished amongst them, meaning he was able to gap eventual second place getter Scott Grey.

TaG Restricted Masters: Who says local track knowledge doesn’t pay off? In this class it did and Perfect Peter Patzwald won every heat and the final in a dominant showing. It was Terry Grant who was on his tail all weekend long that came home second but it was the third place getter Anthony Crawford (the Kiwi) who stole the show – he gave more waves and hang tens’s than an X-Games competitor and we even got the heel clicker after the checkered flag!

Cadet 12: This class really did put on a show all weekend for us. Damien White from the Whitsundays was on the pace all weekend long but just missed out on the podium taking 4th. It was the flying Shaun Jaques who came through to get third, Charlie Bowen was in the hunt all weekend long  & got second, but after dramas, one DNF and some great racing it was Beau Bromhead who showed his pace to come through and win the final.

Cadet 12

KA4 Junior: This class also gave us some of the very best racing of the weekend, it was close, intense & clean. You have to feel sorry for the Alientech driver Alex Hadden who deserved a podium after showing such pace. He was in a podium spot for at least half the weekend and brought the #75 kart home in 4th, but it was that ex bull rider Brody Nunn (the birthday boy) who celebrated his birthday with a third place. Grabbing second after battling for a win all weekend long was the super quick Sam Seccombe, but top step honours went to the second Alientech driver, Ryan Hadden – he simply was not going to be beaten, dominated the timing sheets and won every heat & the final, but was made to work really hard for it! The weekend was made even sweeter as it was not only his first race win but his first state title!

KA4 Junior

TaG Restricted Light: Great racing through the field in this one and a great showing from Brianna McKenzie to eventually finish 5th, but the podium places were taken by the hard charging Michael Bell who got third, Adam Stohfeldt came through to grab second & it was another supremely dominant performance from another first timer at the track, Ashley Davis who took the win in every heat as well as the final.

Overall, a great weekend of racing, a fabulous BBQ on the Saturday night and birthday cake too!
