Pole & Podium For Calleja in Italy

William Calleja enjoyed his best result in Europe so far, qualifying fastest and finishing on the podium at the second round of the Italian Championship at Ugento on the weekend.

Racing with the factory Parolin team in Mini, Calleja topped the 63-kart field before two second places and a DNF in the heats saw him ranked 15th. He then moved up to eighth in the first Final before taking P3 in the second.

Bradley Majman (Shamick Europe, Parolin/TM) was the highest qualifier (P54 of the 77 that clocked times) with Isaac McNeil (KR Motorsport, KR/IAME) P62 and Harry Arnett (Shamick Europe, Parolin/TM) P77.

Arnett moved to P54 (and top Australian) after the heats, he and Majman making the Superheat, but not able to transfer to the Final. McNeil suffered string of DNFs and did not make the superheat.

Dante Vinci, now contesting OK Senior (still on Parolin/TM), qualified an encouraging 24th (of 59) in OK but dropped to 49th after the heat racing and did not make the final.
