The 2021 Bartel Classic

The GKCSA was proud to honour life member John Bartel with the running of the Bartel Classic at the Monarto Karting Complex earlier this month.

John has been involved with the club for 30 years now and was duly awarded life membership for his many years being involved at both our original home at The Pines in Oakbank and our current home at Monarto.

The classes ran a morning practice, three heats using the random draw format and a 14 lap final to determine the winner.

GKCSA also awards a driver of the day award for cadets and one for juniors and these are chosen by the officials and committee based on merit and the way the winners conduct themselves on race day; it’s not all about winning the day but about the experiences that the kids have while at the track.
