Darwin Karting Association has confirmed the 2020 Northern Territory Kart Championship has been cancelled.
Originally scheduled for July 10 to 12, the DKA committee announced the restrictions around the COVID-19 pandemic make it increasingly difficult to organise a successful event.
“The likelihood of restrictions surrounding mass gatherings being relaxed in time to for the committee to organise a successful event do not seem good” the club posted on social media.
“The committee hopes this provides certainty to our interstate travellers in these trying times.
“Once the track is reopened we will look into hosting a replacement major event for the local racers later in the year.”
