DELIVERED – A container full of new Tony Kart chassis and OTK spare parts arrived at Tony Kart Australia last Wednesday February 5. Around sixty new karts were delivered, including lots of senior chassis (most already sold) plus the new Junior chassis and Roookie kart. “The 2020 Tony Kart range is now in stock at Tony Kart Australia! We know have fresh stock of the super successful Racer 401R, the Krypton 801R, the Rookie EV 950 and also the brand new Tony Kart Nordix EV chassis for KA4 Junior classes! There’s also plenty of spare parts!”


HOME AWAY FROM HOME – Wollongong has been appointed “home club” at Eastern Creek.


EVENT UPDATE – An Open Performance class has been added to the South Australia State Cup at Mount Gambier next month. The class will use MG Yellow tyres. Entries close Sunday 1st March.


INDUSTRY – Tony Kart Australia has announced a new official dealer for the brand in NSW – Christian Jory from NSW Kart Team. “Christian has been around the karting scene for 20 years including 5 years in Formula Ford and now runs a race team of 12 drivers ranging from Juniors to Seniors. “You will see Christian around the race tracks of NSW, so go and speak to him about purchasing a new Tony Kart or spare parts!”


ROTAX TEST – There will be a Rotax-only test weekend at Todd Road prior to the opening round of the 2020 Rotax Pro Tour. March 14th & 15th have been confirmed as a Rotax only test weekend and the last weekend Pro Tour competitors can test for the event, with entries closing at 11:59pm on Sunday 15th March.


TEMP CHECK – IAME Series Asia has issued a bulletin to its drivers, teams and supporters regarding the Corona virus and the opening round:

“In light of the current outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus, IAME Series Asia will be implementing a mandatory daily temperature check on all visitors to the IAME Series Asia Round 1 at Sentul International Kart Circuit. The mandatory daily temperature checks will be conducted from Weds 19/2 to Sun 22/2 just outside of the event venue. Visitors who are given the all clear by the medical team will be issued an “all-clear” wrist band. Visitors found to be having a fever will not be allowed into the event and will be referred to the onsite doctor. We thank you for your patience and understanding. Together we can manage this difficult time.”

DRIVER PR – Connor Zilisch has secured the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy seat for the United States of America for 2020. Zilisch is set to jet set his way throughout the world with a jam-packed race schedule of events throughout North American and Europe. “I’m honored to be picked to represent the United States in the Academy Trophy series. I’ve worked hard to improve my driving, and I’m excited to have the chance to compete in a race where everyone is running the same equipment” Zilisch said.

AKC OPENER – The provisional entry list for the opening round of the 2020 SP Tools Australian Kart Championship (The Bend, February 28 to March 1) has been published. The numbers set a new entry record for the current series format of the championship with 316 nominations received. A draft timetable is available on the KA website HERE.
