As the winter weather came out, and the track got wet at the Albury Wodonga Kart Club’s June race day, young Junior Flynn Twyford kicked into gear.
“I was surprised by my pace in the wet” Flynn said, “but the kart just came alive.”
His success in achieving pole-position by the smallest margin – 0.024 seconds – was certainly an achievement given it was only his fifth club day. .
Being a motorsport – mainly Supercars – fan for many years, and racing since February, Flynn is ever eager to get on track in the small Junior class.
His dedicated mum and handy dad are happy to make the trip from Wangaratta to AWKC to support Flynn.
“I would have never thought I’d be at a go-kart track,” dad, Adrian commented. Yet here they are, a vibrant part of the AWKC club.
Turns out that Flynn really aced it in both the wet and the dry, managing to achieve his very first win! Well done mate!
