Tiger's Have-A-Go Day
The Tiger Kart club in WA conducted a rather special race meeting on the weekend; one where there were no placings awarded or trophies handed out to the winners. This was the club's 'have-a-go day' which ran a different track for each of the three heat races, allowed non-karters to have a drive and offered a karting swap meet. Nations Cup - 1 USA, 2 Spain, 3 Australia
DD2 - 1 Simas Juodvirsis (LIT), 2 Joey Wimsett (USA), 3 Oriol Dalmau Caballer (ESP). Jason Pringle finished 7th, having got up to 3rd on lap 3. Lucas Ward 23rd, Brendan Nelson DNF (30th).
Senior MAX - 1 Oliver Hodgson (UK), 2 Aavo Telvar (EST), 3 Oliver Askew (USA). Tyler Greenbury 11th (started 13th). Daniel Rochford and Pierce Lehane both DNF with 4 laps to go, classified 29th and 30th.
DD2 Masters - 1 Christiano Morgado (RSA), 2 Daniel Richert (AUS), 3 Scott Campbell (CAN). Adam Hunter got back to 9th after contact earlier in the race. This was Morgado's 4th Rotax World Final win, and his 3rd straight in DD2 Masters. UPDATE: Richert was given a 10s penalty as his last corner pass happened under yellows, dropping him to 5th. This also affected the Nations Cup where Australia is now ranked 3rd instead of 2nd.
Junior MAX - 1 Juan Correa (USA), 2 Brett Ward (UK), 3 Zhou Guan Yo (UK). Joseph Burton-Harris (grid 5) got to 2nd place in the opening corners but sadly retired after contact on the opening lap. James Abela, storming drive from 33rd to 9th! Liam McLellan, 25th to 13th.
