karting updates, here and abroad...

  • A notice to drivers wishing to practice for the upcoming Canberra Cup - the club has advised the circuit will be closed for practice this Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the TEKA Endurance Karting event. "The track will be open for practice all other days, however there may be some delays on a couple of days due to preparations for the Canberra Cup, like lawn mowing, edging and gravel trap works."

  • 16-year old Northern Territory karting star Bryce Fullwood is one of two young racers (the other is NZ's Caleb Cross, 14) to be named as foundation drivers in Ford Performance Racing's new young driver development program. Run under the Prodrive Racing Australia Academy banner, FPR has stated it will assist the duo “in developing all facets of being a modern racing driver”and help the team “find the next Chaz Mostert” for its V8 Supercars outfit. Fullwood will carry Prodrive Racing Academy branding at the Rotax MAX World Finals later this month. Read more about it on speedcafe HERE.

  • Aussie Indycar champion Will Power will race an Aussie Deadly kart at the Vegas Supernationals. Power recently tested the X30 powered machine to get back into 'karting mode'. Note the Hoosier kart tyres (or should that be, tires?). David Sera is heading to Vegas to assist Power, who will compete in the TaG Masters category. Sera himself will compete in TaG Senior. Marco Andretti will also be racing in Vegas.

  • Victoria is in danger of losing another race meeting this month. At the time of writing, entries for the Wimmera Kart Grand Prix at Horsham on November 22 are not at a sufficient level. We've been advised that club officials will be meeting Thursday night and unless there is an influx of entries by 9pm, the event is likely to be cancelled. If you're considering racing at this event (or any event for that matter), get your entry in sooner rather than later! If you plan to race but cannot enter on the CMS, please contact Shane Souter (president) 0409 807153. Supp Regs are in the Race Calendar page.
