DAY 5

Saturday 18th October 2014

Today we finally had blue sky and sunshine.

I only had one heat today and it didn't go to plan. At the start the driver off position 2 got a slow start which backed up our whole outside lane.

Then two drivers came together and spun into my path on the inside approach to turn 1 which left me nowhere to go except the grass!

The grass was damp but I managed to turn enough that I bounced sideways into the tyres and was able to restart my stalled engine and rejoin the race dead last and about 4 seconds off the rear of the field.

I put my head down and managed to drive up to 22nd place in the 7 laps, setting the fastest lap of the race by about 2 tenths.

After such a terrible race it's always nice to have something to smile about!

After the final heat races were completed my points total puts me 21st on the grid for the pre-final which gives me hope of a decent starting position for the final if I can have a clean, fast race and make some passes.
