Becker Set for NSW State Titles

press release 26 September 2014

Sixteen-year old Nick Becker, from West Pennant Hills, is hoping to make the most of his opportunity at the NSW State Titles at Grenfell in the Clubman Light category.

Nick will have vast knowledge in his corner with the likes of his dad, Russell, who is a former multi-national karting champion from the 80s, Peter Galvin and the rest of the Kosmic Racing Australia Team.

Nick jumped at the chance to join the Kosmic Racing Australia team in January 2014, which is home to national and state champions. Since he has been in the team, Nick has improved dramatically not only on the track but also off the track in gathering and sharing knowledge and data.

2014 has been a fairly successful year so far for Nick; with him racking up wins at the Bob Hinde Memorial, Southern Star Series, Col’s Castle Memorial and placing 3rd at the New South Wales Closed State Titles.

At the conclusion of the NSW Closed State titles, Nick was offered a test drive in a Formula Ford courtesy of Anglo Motorsport. This was held at Sydney Motorsport Park. After the test day, Hugh (mechanic from the Anglo Motorsport team) said, “Nick’s first drive in a Formula Ford was a fast one, he showed good potential and a willingness to learn that you need to be a successful racing driver”. Nick made a strong start to a possible open wheeler career.

With all these experiences, Nick hopes to put into practice what he has learnt and bring home a good result at the NSW State Titles.

Nick would like to thank Anglo Motorsport for the opportunity to drive a Formula Ford. He would also like to thank his parents for their tireless efforts to allow Nick to race, Kosmic Racing Australia and Galston Service Centre.
