Launceston Karters Enjoy Success On Mainland

Four Launceston Kart Club members travelled last weekend to the biggest junior race meeting in Australia, when they competed at the Junior Sprint Classic at the Puckapunyal Race track in country Victoria.

Over 250 drivers attended the two day race meeting for juniors aged from 7 to 16 years old. The meeting caters for all classes of juniors with the drivers able enter a number of divisions with the same kart, All Launceston Karters entered the open class and also the C&D Grade division.

Jackson Callow, competing in Junior National Light (C&D grade), came home with a very impressive 3rd place finish in the final. Tate Frost, who competed in Rookies (C&D Grade), finished 5th in a field of twenty five. Lauchie Dalton and Kurtis Love also competed in Rookies C&D Grade and finished 10th and 11th respectively.

In the Open division Callow finished 14th in a field of twenty three in what was only his second race meeting in Juniors. Rookies open division saw twenty seven karters start the final with Frost finishing 14th, Love 19th and Dalton 21st.
