  • Stuck in the 90s? Judging by a new group "Go Kart Legends (90s)" on Facebook, it seems there are many current and former karters who are! Lots of photos, videos and discussion of Australian karting and karters from the 1990s HERE.

  • Speaking of 'Blasts From The Past'... Cooper's Photography has posted 20+ photos on Facebook of famous faces from kart tracks around the country. Who do your recognise? Click HERE to take a look.

  • David Sera hosted a driver training day at the Sapphire Coast Kart Club on Saturday. Six of the club’s members took part in the day, which included time on the track and one-on-one training with Sera. Dave's presence made the BegaDistrictNews website HERE.   • The South West Kart Club in Victoria is offering ten reserved pit sites to karters at upcoming race meetings. The sites are in handy location to the grid, canteen and other facilities. The guaranteed reserved spot - no matter how late you arrive at the track, it's your spot - costs an additional $20 on top of the event entry fee. Remaining vacant stalls are sites 5, 6 and 7 (for rear loading trailers) and 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 & 14 (for side opening trailers and some rear loading). Contact the club.

  • Old School street race kart crash - Darren Steeden flips out of the Tamworth street race in the early 90s. Watch this and you'll understand why there is no substitute for clear runoff areas and why we have spectator fences:


  • Chris Reid set a new 'reverse' lap record at Whyalla Kart Club for the Restricted 125 Light class on the weekend. The meeting was Whyalla's regular club race day, and Reid lowered the time to 26.534s. Report and results are on the Whyalla News website HERE.

  • Round 4 of the MIA Powder Coating Southern Star Series will head to Grenfell, the "home of country karting" on the 24/25 August. This series has exceeded all expectations drawing huge numbers of karters - 163 karts at round 1 in Canberra, 145 for round 2 at Wagga, then 174 for round 3 at Dubbo. The series has drawn karters from as far as Melbourne in the South and from up on the North Coast. Grenfell's round comes off the back of a great Bob Hinde Memorial meeting which attracting just under 200 karters. Series coordinators and the club are hoping to surpass the 200 kart mark for round 4. The Grenfell club will be putting on the usual Friday and Saturday night feed around the camp fire and offer camping and hot showers. So, dust the cobwebs off the swags and camping gear!
