Another Championship For Boccolacci

perss release 18 July 2013

Steadily at the top of the karting competition, Dorian Boccolacci has just won his second international championship of the 2013 season in the KF category: the WSK Master Series.

At the end of an exceptionally regular path, holding the top ranking all along the Italian rounds, the driver of Lotus F1 Junior Team finished at the top with practically twice the score of his competitors, despite being forced to abandon the last final. Some great art!

Consisting of 4, 100% Italian meetings, from February to July, the WSK Master Series this year looked like a stage worthy of the best international meetings, attended by the best drivers and official or private teams. With variable tracks, and variable weather, holding the leadership of the championship as Dorian did, from the 1st round, required a lot of consistency. Also for Michele Panigada's Energy Corse Team, with the support of Luigina and Simone, for the TM company and the GFR engine mechanic, it has been a major challenge to continue developing the kart, while being always ready for the busy program : as many as 12 competitions have already been raced all over Europe since the beginning of the year.

In the final round of the WSK Master Series, in Castelletto, the goal was twofold. First of all to secure the championship by targeting victory, but also to get ready for the second round of the CIK-FIA European Championship the following week. Mission was almost accomplished since Dorian made the pole position in timed qualifying, secured the SuperPole and won the pre-final. The only snag of the meeting, a minor technical problem at the front-wheel axle of his Energy/TM forced him out of yet another fight for the leadership in the Final. Thanks to his remarkable lead, however, he won the 2013 WSK Master Series hands down.

« I am very happy to have been able to triumph once again in such a prestigious international series as the Master after winning the Euro Series. » remarked the driver of Equipe de France FFSA Karting. « The year had started out very well, then competition had become fiercer and we had to work harder to react. I think that now we have achieved the level of the best, which is very important in view of the great meetings in the second part of the season. It will be difficult to conquer the European title, because I am lagging a few points behind, but I shall be focusing on victory in Ortona and we'll see how things turn out in the Final. »

Being able to rely on a kart of extraordinary efficiency, on his outstanding shape and on a sturdy state of mind, Dorian can focus on the proceedings of the races and give his best on every occasion. The analysis of the WSK Master Series results shows that, apart from his retirement in the final race, he has always aimed at the top 3, or even the top 2 in 85 % and at the 1st position in the ranking in 50 % of the cases. No other driver has been able to show such regularity over this 5-month period.

It is now unanimously recognized that a great champion has revealed himself this year.
