Leopard Light was a fantastic battle over the weekend with a field holding National champions Leigh Nicolaou, James Sera, James Allen & Jesse Elliott. Leigh’s outright pace was hidden courtesy of a DNF in heat 2 which was the only “dry” race before the important final. Starting from 5th place, Leigh took the lead from multiple national champion James Sera on lap 6 with James Allen also in the mix as the three drivers battled for the lead over the remaining 10 laps. Nicolaou held onto the lead from lap 14 to record a memorable win of his career and a win for the X3-CIK.

TAG Light, Jordan Nicolaou was waving the flag in his new Monaco M3 CIK kart. Jordan battled hard all weekend with podium finishes throughout the weekend but in the final he had to settle for 3rd place.

Junior National Heavy, the field was full of experienced drivers with the likes of Rowe, North, Hawkes, Cameron, Phillips, Titherington, Marsh-Stepney & Sparey. Nick Rowe and Braydon North who are at the top of their games in 2013 were the ones to beat but young hot shot Aaron Cameron had his own agenda with pole position for the 16 lap final. Braydon North grabbed the lead from Cameron on lap 2 and the two of them quickly establish a gap to Rowe in 3rd. North drove a fantastic race, Cameron grabbed the lead on lap 13 for a few corners before North quickly got himself back in front. Tragedy struck North after completing lap 14 of 16 with a dropped chain coming out of pit corner, Aaron Cameron went onto win and was a deserving winner. Rowe secured 2nd place and Todd Sparey the final spot on the podium.

With other gun drivers Nathan Williams, Jordan Caruso, Jai Sparey, Oscar Piastri & Jacob De Cerqueira in front a top five result would have been well deserved. Domenic had other ideas! Into 2nd place by lap 1 and then the lead by lap 8, Domenic had the crowd on their feet. With plenty of lead changes, Domenic brought his Arrow development kart over the line for a brilliant victory which had the large crowd in raptures.
