"We are looking forward to getting out on to the Newcastle Kart track," captain Kurt Gidley said.

"There is a few of us that enjoy having a go in the karts and it will be great to meet the drivers and teams on Friday."

The Knights players will get a chance to sample some of the Kart brands that the Pro Tour presents with an on-track driving experience during the lunch break as well as an opportunity to get up close and personal with many of the Pro Tour drivers both on and off track, with an array of Karts to be placed across the start/finish line representing the large amount of brands that form part of the Pro Tour.

A large range of brands will be represented; Michael Stewart (Energy Corse), Adam Lindstrom (Formula K) and Brendan Nelson (Arrow) from DD2; Mitchell Griffin (Exprit) and Liam McLellan (Intrepid/OK1) from Junior Max; Stephanie Stones (Sodi) from Junior Max Trophy; Thomas Randle (RK Karts), Daniel Rochford (Kart 1) and Tyler Greenbury (CRG) from Rotax Light and Hamish Leighton (Tony Kart) from DD2 Masters.

Managing Director of International Karting Distributors Ian Black, the sole importer of Rotax in Australia is excited at the opportunity to incorporate the two sporting codes together at a round of the Pro Tour.

“It’s great to have the players from the Newcastle Knights come out to the track and cross promote both our sports in this way. The media exposure the team can bring combined with the on track experience we provide will be beneficial for the Pro Tour and the Newcastle Knights together,” said Black.
