Karting News Briefs

  28 March 2013

on the eve of the Nationals...

  • Aussies Pierce Lehane and James Macken will be in action in the Senior Max class this weekend at the opening round of the Rotax Euro Challenge in Genk, Belgium. Follow the results and watch the live video feed via www.rgmmcmedia.com (then click the GO Live button). Lorraine Farley is posting daily updates of Pierce's progress in a thread on Kartbook HERE.

  • What does the Nationals mean to you?

  • KartbookTV's Wednesday video wrap:

  • There will be no KF2 British Championship in the UK in 2013. The governing body has ditched the category which has continually suffered from a lack of support. It is now possible the KZ gearbox class could inherit the tag of UK karting's top British Championship class. More on karting1.co.uk HERE.

  • David Sera and Kel Treseder are looking to conduct a driver training weekend in Bundaberg on May 11 and 12. It will cover on and off track aspects and include driving technique and kart setup information. However, before they commit to run, the champion duo needs to know if there is enough demand. Cost will be a $150 with a maximum of 30 participants (15 each day). Contact Kel - 0417 094 681 or email kel.treseder@amcor.com

  • Entry is now open for the Rotax Pro Tour Newcastle on 12-14th April. Every entered driver will receive a FREE Official Drivers T-Shirt. These will be distributed on the Friday at the event. Please note that the close of entry date has been extended to Tuesday 9th April 2013. Supp Regs and entry Form HERE.

  • Two-time World Karting Champion Alessandro Manetti has 'returned' to Rotax power, competing in the Rotax DD2 class at the Florida Winter Tour. Manetti won the CIK-FIA world championship in 1991 and in 1994 using the 100 cc Rotax engine of that time.
