Amendment to the Rotax Rankings Terms & Conditions
Compulsory Attendance at Trophy Presentation
The trophy presentation at major events such as the Rotax Pro Tour, are an important part of the sucessful promotion of brands not just for the event hosts, but also for kart manufacturers, Rotax dealers, magazine publications and photographers. A lot of time and money goes into organising trophies, promotional models, sponsors giveaways etc for trophy presentation and the decision not to attend the trophy presentation by a Driver is both unprofessional and disrespectful to all those involved in the organisation and also the fellow competitors and teams who have stayed to be a part of the presentation.
As a result of the poor attendance at the trophy presentation at Pro Tour events, IKD have decided to amend the Rotax Rankings terms and conditions to penalise any Driver who does not attend the trophy presentation.
The following clause has been added to the Rotax Rankings Terms & Conditions, and is effective from todays date, Monday 4th March 2013:
Compulsory Attendance at Trophy Presentation
A 1000 point penalty will be applied to the Ranking of any Driver who does not attend the trophy presentation and
wear their race suit to receive their trophy at all Rotax Pro Tour events and the Rotax National Championships.
(clarification - the 1000 point penalty will only be applied to the Ranking of any Driver who is receiving a trophy or prize and does not attend the trophy presentation wearing their race suit at all Rotax Pro Tour events and the Rotax National Championships.)
IKD will exercise discretion with this rule should mitigating circumstances be applicable.
